Wild - Movie Review

Wild comes to us from the director of Dallas Buyers Club and stars Reese Witherspoon as Cheryl Strayed, the true story of a woman to take a thousand miles hike to get over some serious tragedy that currently occurred in her life.

We really liked Dallas Buyers Club, we thought that it was a very different and has different approached story telling and we were very exited to see the way Jean-Marc Vallee handled Wild.

Reese Witherspoon has been an actress that we've liked for a ling time. She is beautiful, smart, and talented and in this movie she gives one of the best performances she has given in her entire career.

Wild faces a lot of challenges. Wild is movie about someone 'hiking'. It's really tough to make that stuff interesting for to hours and we think they mostly pulled it off. The way the movie tells its story is that you are just in the hike right from the beginning.

Cheryl encounters various things along the way that remind her of her past. And that's when we see flash backs and we learn why she is the way she is. But it did take a while for us to understand she is doing some of the thing because they hide a lot of that for a long period. There are times when we didn't feel the significant of her journey because the film wasn't showing us why it was so significant to her.

The thing we loved about Cheryl's character was intriguing and likable. She felt like a normal person.

We do have some issues with the movie though, a lot of the are just about the story telling. Like we said, it took awhile for you to understand what she is doing. Now that we have seen the movie and we did some research on the real Cheryl Strayed, we learned that she had a tough life experiences. But you are watching the movie from the story telling perspective, it might take a while for you ti understand.

So our Wild movie review, we are rating the movie  4 stars out of 5. We do thing that it was a little over hype and it could be better that it was. But it worth seeing.
